Founder and President
Paul Hamlin

Upon graduating from Wake Forest University with a degree in business, Mr. Hamlin began his insurance claims career with St. Paul Insurance Company in 1990. He spent nearly 6 years with St. Paul handling nursing home and medical malpractice claims as well as other types of complex, high exposure liability litigation including product liability, construction defect, EEOC claims, etc. He led many special projects including fraud detection and prevention, coverage litigation / bad faith defense, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and others.

Mr. Hamlin took a brief sabbatical from the insurance industry and worked as a flight instructor for ComAir Aviation Academy and an airline pilot for Northwest Airlink. He returned to the claims business in 1998 as branch manager for an all lines independent adjusting company in Orlando, Florida.

Mr. Hamlin founded Hamlin & Burton Liability Management, Inc. in January, 1999 to provide specialized claims and litigation management services to the insurance industry, alternative risk entities and numerous self-insured organizations.

Mr. Hamlin has been widely recognized as an expert in claims and litigation management. He has evaluated and managed thousands of complex claims, invented a proprietary web based claims management software system and developed Hamlin & Burton into an industry leading provider of claims related services. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer, has authored articles for industry magazines, and occasionally serves as an expert witness.

Mr. Hamlin lives and works in the Orlando area, has three children and is a member of All Saints Episcopal Church.

Vice President/Operations
Al Hamlin

Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, Mr. Hamlin attended the University of Central Florida and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Education. Mr. Hamlin oversees the licensing, maintenance and development of our patent pending claims management software, CHaRT®. Mr. Hamlin was responsible for the successful customization of CHaRT® to facilitate the effective administration of Class Action Settlements. He manages the administration of Class Action Settlement proceedings out of the Orlando Office. Mr. Hamlin is responsible for the business operations for Hamlin & Burton Liability Management and The Program Administration Company and currently serves as Vice President of Operations.

Vice President
Brenda Warren

Brenda Warren has over 25 years of claims experience including the handling and supervision of multi-line claims with emphasis on professional liability claims. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia. She was employed with St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company for 20 years, primarily handling and supervising professional liability claims. Ms. Warren joined Hamlin & Burton in 1999. She provides claim handling services, litigation management for physicians, hospitals, and long term care facilities, coordinates claim file auditing operations and serves as a Vice President and an internal technical resource to Hamlin & Burton Litigation Managers from her office in Tampa, Florida.

Chuck Ellzey

Mr. Ellzey has over 30 years experience handling claims. A native of Mississippi, Mr. Ellzey graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He began his insurance career handling general lines with Crawford & Company and The Cincinnati Insurance Company before going to work for Medical Assurance (now Pro Assurance). Leaving his post as Vice-President of the Midwest/Atlantic region with Medical Assurance, Mr. Ellzey joined Hamlin & Burton in May 2001, when he opened an office in Mobile, Alabama. He provides claim handling services, litigation management for physicians, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. Mr. Ellzey also serves as Vice President and an internal technical resource to Hamlin & Burton litigation managers.

Richard Curry

Richard Curry has over 20 years experience handling claims, including 18 years with long term care, physician, and hospital claims.  Mr. Curry began his insurance career with Metropolitan Property and Liability Insurance Company in 1988.  In 1990 Mr. Curry joined Healthcare Underwriters Mutual Insurance Company and Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company handling long term care, physician, hospital, and allied health professional claims throughout the Northeast. In 2001 Mr. Curry became the Assistant Regional Claims Manager.  In addition to supervising the claims department, Rich continued to handle his own files, was heavily involved in the development of a proprietary claims software program and conducted education seminars for nursing homes.   He is a native of New York and a graduate of Syracuse University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Economic Crime Investigation. Mr. Curry joined Hamlin and Burton in 2008 when he opened our Albany, NY office and now serves as a Vice President and internal technical resource to Hamlin & Burton Litigation Managers.

Robin Kendall

Robin Kendall joined Hamlin & Burton in our Longwood, FL headquarters in July 2006 and serves our clients as a Claims Representative. She previously worked as a paralegal for Allen, Dyer, Doppelt, Milbrath, & Gilchrist, an Orlando law firm specializing in intellectual property, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Kendall has extensive experience in the management of complex legal procedures. In addition to Robin's claim work, she serves as Hamlin & Burton’s Corporate Administrator and MSP Specialist.

Litigation Manager
Rose Pritchard

Rose Pritchard started her professional career as a registered nurse in Cleveland, Ohio at St. Vincent Charity Hospital specializing in cardiac care. She joined Physician's Peer Review Organization (PPRO) in 1985 where she became the Supervisor of Quality Review. PPRO was a contracted Medicare Review Agency. Ms. Pritchard continued with a 19-year insurance career at St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company. She worked from their Cleveland, OH office handling medical professional liability claims involving hospitals, long term care, and physicians. In addition to service as a Litigation Manager, Ms. Pritchard also operates as Center of Expertise and Corporate Trainer for Hamlin & Burton. Ms. Pritchard joined Hamlin & Burton in September 2005 and serves our clients out of Cleveland, Ohio.
