American Red Cross, Treasures for Troops

This is our second year for contributing to this organization.  The American Red Cross creates care packages to deliver to the soldiers defending our country overseas.  The care packages are packaged in a reusable shaving/make-up bag.  They consist of a deck of cards, crossword puzzles, snacks/candy, an electronic pocket game (with batteries), and a multi-tool.  The American Red Cross was so appreciative of our donation last year and we were pleased to contribute to their organization once again.  We know that the men and women who receive these care packages appreciate them.

Orlando Sentinel Family Fund

Each summer, the Orlando Sentinel (our Orlando newspaper) raises funds for local agencies which need financial assistance to maintain their position of giving back to the community.  Each donation made is matched 50% by the McCormick Tribune Foundation!!  The H.E.R.O. Foundation was able to direct our donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (we were told that they needed the most assistance).  We were touched by the fact that this Fund gives to so many different types of agencies, covering so many aspects of need.

Paralyzed Veterans of America

This organization gives back to the injured who have served our country.  They fund projects to educate the paralyzed and their healthcare providers about adapting to paralysis & overcoming stigmas associated with it.  They also provide health care, as well as benefits, for the paralyzed veterans.
